Back to Analog phones...
You get what you pay for and voice-over-IP is a cheap alternative. We've decided to migrate back to plain old telephone. Here's why...
As I've learned through many life lessons, communication is key for everything. Phone and email are a big part of my daily routine and when it doesn't go smooth, well, it gets ugly around here.
We're a small company and the cost savings of VOIP was appealing so we decided to give it a go. Since the change it has been a continuous battle and embarrassing moments of "He..Hello? Can you hear me? I'm sorry you broke up. Can you repeat that? He..Hello? Are you there?"
We're smart guys and we can't make it work. VOIP is an entire vertical within the computer industry. It's complex, time consuming and in our case, not worth it.
I really don't know how small, non-technical companies could deploy VOIP and be happy with it. One person in our office watching a clip on YouTube kills the phones and causes a horrible connection.
I'll save you the boring technical details but we're moving back to reliable & expensive analog lines.
We couldn't make it work. Can you?
